Michela has been actively representing clients and institutions in various cases before the Courts and Tribunals of the European Union and has been an agent of the legal service of the European Commission. Therefore, Michela has a sound knowledge of european judicial and extra-judicial strategies. She is familiar with the Euorpean notification system and service (CVRIA). She is considered to be the ideal advisor for national law firms seeking assistance in the framework of ruling for preliminary reference before the European Court of Justice (Art. 267 TFEU)

Expert in the field of European Public Labour Law (Fonction Publique Européenne) and of European Social Law, Michela regularly represents European personnel in actions lodged before the General Court and before the Court of Justice as well as in procedures before the Olaf (European Antifraud Office) and Idoc (Commission investigation and disciplinary office).
Michela has an extensive experience in legal advice and client representation.
She personally takes at heart all her cases and takes pride in assessing all possible solutions, both judicial and extra judicial, in favour of her clients. EXPERTISE IN THE CIVIL SYSTEM
While working in Italy, Michela has acquired experience in civil cases and tax law. Upon specific request of European and International officials, she has provided assistance in international successions, international divorces and taxes. Indeed, her particular legal skill in coordinating legislations of different countries constitutes an important asset for this category of clients.

Michela Velardo has worked as an agent of the Legal Service of the European Commission in Brussels, defending and representing the institution before the European Courts.
She lectures in conferences and publishes articles in international journals, such as Chemistry Today, Agro Food Hi-tech, Pharma Horizon and House Hold and Personal Care.
Namely she has lectured for the seminar organized by the Italian Council for Judiciary (Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura), in the framework of professional training of judges and prosecutors. She has also given lectures at the University of Bologna, Labour Law Department, Master of second level.

Prior to her legal activity in Brussels, Michela was an official at the Italian Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Justice. She has also worked with italian law and notary firms.
​
She holds a degree in law from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and a Master in Italian Administrative Law from the "Scuola Nazionale di Amministrazione".
Michela Velardo is a member of the Rome and Brussels Bar. She regularly pleads in French, English and Italian.
She is a litigator with an expertise in European Law and extensive knowledge in European Social and Public Labour law (Fonction Publique Européenne), chemicals and food.

At the present, she has pleaded 140 cases in various fields of European law before the Court of Justice, the General Court and the Civil Service Tribunal of the European Union, as well as before International Administrative Tribunals and national courts.
​
She has represented officials in procedures before the Olaf (European Antifraud Office) and Idoc (Commission Investigation and Disciplinary Office) obtaining several positive outcomes as well as settlement agreements.
​
She has represented staff from a European Mission in a complex case concerning the allocation of jurisdiction between european and national courts.
​
Her expertise also covers other areas related to European legislation and she has been involved in several cases on public access to documents, product recalls, CLP regulation, and many more.
​
She has been involved in the first case of data sharing arbitration in Italy and in a case of alleged abuse of dominant position on pesticides markets as well as in a litigation at national level on a patent on pesticides, all of which positively resolved. She has worked on the first case brought before the Board of Appeal of ECHA.
​
She has also developed an extensive knowledge on State aid, paying very special attention to the recent 2016 State aid guidelines, and in Energy Efficiency.
